Darren Field
General Manager
Darren Field, General Manager of Junior Genius Childcare, has over 12 years of experience in the sector. Holding Level 5 & 6 qualifications in childcare and special needs assistance, he oversees the daily operations of the creche, ensuring smooth and efficient management. From school runs and planning to accounts, maintenance, and supplier coordination, Darren plays a vital role in keeping everything running seamlessly. His dedication to supporting families ensures that children receive the highest quality care and early education. Passionate about creating a safe and nurturing environment, he is committed to excellence in childcare provision.
Stacey Ennis
Business Manager
Stacey has been part of the Junior Genius Childcare team for 12 years, earning a QQI Level 5 & 6 in Childcare and a BA in Early Childhood Care and Education in 2024. Her passion for early years education led her to Australia, where she gained valuable experience in outdoor play and hands-on learning. With seven years in management, she is committed to creating a nurturing environment that supports both child development and mental health. As a mother of two, she values a playful, positive approach to learning and is dedicated to supporting families and colleagues in early childhood education.
Zoe Kavanagh
Curriculum Manager
Zoe is the Early Years Educator and Curriculum Manager at Junior Genius Childcare, bringing 16 years of experience to her role, including 9 years with the team. She holds a Level 6 qualification in Early Years Childcare, along with certifications in FAR First Aid and Mental Health First Aid. Passionate about fostering a fun, inclusive, and creative learning environment, she works closely with the wellness team to support the well-being of both staff and children.
Claire McCarthy
Scheme Manager
Claire is an experienced NCS and Schemes Manager at Junior Genius Childcare, where she has dedicated 12 years to supporting children’s development. Holding a QQI Level 6 in Childcare, Claire is passionate about creating enriching experiences for children of all ages, ensuring they receive the best possible start in life. She works closely with families to navigate funding schemes, making high-quality childcare more accessible for everyone. Known for her warm, approachable nature and attention to detail, Claire is a trusted support for both parents and the wider Junior Genius team.

With over 11 years at Junior Genius, I proudly serve as After School Manager, known for my hands-on leadership and dedication to the wellbeing of both children and staff. A husband to Leizl and father of four, I bring natural empathy and care to everything I do.Alongside managing daily operations, I oversee key safety areas like first aid, fire safety, manual handling, water checks, school runs, and facility planning—ensuring we meet the highest standards. Trusted for my calm, reliable nature, I’m always ready to support my team and create a safe, nurturing environment for all.
Lorraine Collins
Assistant Manager
Lorraine Collins has been a dedicated manager at Junior Genius Childcare for the past six years, bringing energy, care, and versatility to her role. She oversees daily paperwork from the rooms, manages staff uniforms and supplies, and plays a key part in maintaining the creche’s high standards — from helping the maintenance team with outdoor spaces to supporting the kitchen with records and compliance. Lorraine also coordinates school runs and enjoys her daily interactions with the children, who bring joy and energy to her workday. With a strong sense of teamwork and pride in what she does, Lorraine considers Junior Genius not just a workplace, but a family.

Laura McCarthy has been a valued member of the Junior Genius team for the past seven years. She began her journey as an ECCE teacher, where she discovered her love for working with preschool-aged children. In 2023, she proudly completed her Level 8 degree in Early Childhood Education.

As Lead Supervisor, Laura plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the creche — from managing staff schedules and classroom cover to organizing wellness breaks and ensuring every room is fully supported. Her focus is on fostering a positive, well-structured environment where both children and educators can thrive.
